New Chapter Guidance
How to Get Started
- If you are interested in establishing a chapter, make a list of people in educational realms, bookstores, libraries, book clubs, etc. who might be interested in forming a chapter
- Bring the core people together (10-15) and explore possibilities
- WNBA will provide a copy of its By-laws
- WNBA will provide a copy of another chapter's by-laws for framework in establishing ones for the new chapter, sample publications, i.e., Membership application forms, newsletters, etc.
- WNBA will provide a copy of the Information Overview from the WNBA National Manual. This provides an overview of memberships, awards, fiscal year, etc.
- Someone from the Executive Committee, committee chairs, or chapter presidents, from WNBA will be assigned as liaison and in attendance at the first meeting
- WNBA can provide start-up funds as determined by the Executive Committee to potential chapter for postage, copying, etc. upon request
- An interested person must send a letter of intent to establish the chapter to the WNBA National President within 120 days from the first meeting
