WNBA Pannell Award...for bookstores
In 1981, WNBA established the WNBA Pannell Award to recognize and applaud the work of booksellers who stimulate, promote and encourage children's and young people's interest in books. This prestigious award is
WNBA's way of honoring Lucille Micheels Pannell, who, although she had no children of her own, spent her life in education, library work, managing a bookstore and introducing children to the world of books.
