Seattle Chapter

Seattle is renowned for being one of the most literate and book-loving cities in the country. Like so many other good ideas that emerge from the Northwest, Seattle's chapter of the Women's National Book Association was born in a coffee shop. Henriette Anne Klauser, internationally published non-fiction author, and long-time journalist Diane Wright accepted the roles of president and secretary, respectively, following several informal meetings with other Seattle-area book women. Since that July 2008 meeting, the chapter has grown to a vibrant and diverse community. This lively group meets to share their love of books, recognize the role that women have played in the book industry, foster professional growth and support literacy.
