WNBA/Washington Spring Brunch

The cherry blossoms are long past their peak but WNBA/Washington is still celebrating the season-with our spring networking brunch on Sunday, May 18. We're returning to one of our member's home and lovely garden in Arlington, VA, for an opportunity to network and partake of a tasty buffet.

Please do plan to join us from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on May 18 for the spring brunch. The price of admission is $10 or a potluck dish of your choice. Those of you who attended the fall 2007 brunch will remember the fun we had with our round robin and want to participate once again. For those who've never attended, the brunch begins with conversation and good food, served buffet style. Once all have had their fill, we convene as a group and go around the room giving each attendee, in turn, a 1-minute opportunity to talk about books published, jobs sought or available, workshops taken or upcoming, and anything else of interest to we who love books.

If you're planning to bring a dish, do let NC Weil know whether it's an appetizer, salad, main dish, or dessert so we can have a balanced as well as bounteous spread. And please bring a 3” x 5” card with the name of your dish and its ingredients so people with food allergies have the information they need.

WNBA's board members look forward to seeing you at the brunch so we can get to know you, hear your ideas for our organization and programs, and give you a preview of coming events. Whether you're a member of longstanding or someone who's considering joining, we look forward to seeing you on May 18.

Held between September/October and May/June, our events (two brunches and a holiday party) and programs provide opportunities for networking and professional growth. Monthly programs address topics of interest to our members, from the craft of writing and the business of publishing to professional development, freelancing, and literacy promotion. Programs are organized by members of the chapter board, specifically the program co-chairs, as well as other member volunteers. WNBA also offers small-group gatherings that meet regularly throughout the year for informal networking and socializing.
